  2. Are you receiving any error messages?
  3. I've always found this site useful when looking for help with DOS commands. http://www.computerhope.com/msdos.htm
  4. Also a feature in TweakUI if you're not comfortable going into the registry.
  5. A little story a friend in the 'biz' told me about Windows 7... A couple people were working on something called 'Windows Silver' but did not have the money to release it. Microsoft got their hands on it, did a few modifications and decided to release its new version of Windows to the Public. They called it Windows Vista. It had quite a few problems, but the one feature that worked so well was the "Send this to Microsoft" popup you would see when something happened that wasn't supposed to happen. Well, Microsoft used all the data gathered by this and poured it into a new version of Windows, they called Windows 7. Once the amount of reports slowed down, and they stopped getting new errors, they put a little R&D into it to polish it off and released to to the public. Windows 7 is Windows Vista without all the bugs and annoyances. We were used as guinea pigs and instead of spending millions on R&D Microsoft went to the people to get their opinions. Some people may feel used, but all I can say is - you're welcome :) -- Please note the above is a story; rumor if you will. It's in no way fact or fiction, but I do believe my sources and regardless it's quite an interesting story either way. Back on topic...... Windows 7 is wonderful. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet.
  6. TweakUI has a section to modify the location of your favorites folder. Just load the program, drill down to the favorites section, and tell it where to look for your favorites. In your case, the 'Adela's Bookmarks' folder. You can then copy any files from the other two folders into this one to have them stored in one place. It's hard to say how this happened in the first place. Likely you may have moved something without knowing it.
  7. That's quite small, even for an installation of Windows XP. You should definitely look into expanding that. The less free space your drive has, the slower your computer will be. Another good free partition tool is gparted. It's a little bit more advanced, but I've had much success with it. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
  8. Sounds like something is taking over your default mail client. Or at least changing how the .eml extension is being handled. Do you use a web based email like hotmail, yahoo (as example) or do you use a software email like Thunderbird or Windows Mail?

  10. I just picked this up and have been using it about a week now. I love it. :D It's making my time on the computer (which is A LOT) even more enjoyable. I have nothing but nice things to say, so I won't even bother going into the details. I do like the fact that it has DVI and VGA inputs directly on the back of the monitor, as well as built in speakers (which I don't use, but they are there) This was to replace a 19" CRT monitor that was about as old as I am. I figured it was about time for an upgrade B) http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/detail/...=LS22WJWKBM/XAA
