  2. Glad to hear it is all sorted doug. Did you try GParted?.
  3. I thought it might be the hard drive, but what confuses me is it should not get to the safe mode/ last known good config, if the hard drive had gone.
  4. Cheers rong, it takes the guesswork out of it. :D
  5. When I use quick reply I have to guess where to click to submit the reply.
  6. I have made my perfect egg, but I fear it will go hard waiting for instructions on how to do the toast soldiers. :P
  7. My nephew has just phoned me to say his computer will not work. I hade him hit the F8 key and try Last known good configuration, and nothing, so I told him to select safe mode with networking and still nothing. There are no beeps from the BIOS, so it is rather confusing. Any suggestions gladly received.
  8. If you tried gparted Doug I will have a go at explaining it. Load Gparted and it should show your two partitions as hda1/hda2. Right click hda2 and click UNMOUNT. Right click hda1 and click.UNMOUNT. Right click hda1 and select RESIZE. it will tell you the maximum amout you can resize the partition to. In the box set the maximun amount (It is quicker to delete the amount and retype the new amount in the box than use the up arrow to do it). Then click apply on the top bar. After it has completed, reboot windows and you will get Windows doing a disk check then it should boot into Windows.
  9. http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php Just tried this, it is a computer system analysis software like Belarc and Aida 32 but it is better. If you have information up and minimize it to the task bar it leaves an abridged version in the top right corner of the screen, ideal if you want to keep an eye on your computer temperatures. Thanks to caintry_boy on the pit for the link.
  10. Try GParted. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php And here are the instructions on how to partition your drive. http://gparted-livecd.tuxfamily.org/larry/...ze/resizing.htm
  11. This is what mine looks like, I have highlighted the SATA 2 controller.
  12. Rong I have the same board as you and I have just looked at the BIOS settings as I use SATA drives. IN the BIOS under ADVANCED--SerialATA configuration, make sure Raid Enabled is Disabled and under Silicon 2 controller make sure SATA is selected and not Raid. Hope this helps as that is how mine is set up.
  13. Yes Boris I have already looked on the Brother site. I have sent them an e-mail and i am awaiting a reply. I shall not get back to looking at it till Monday due to work commitments.
