  1. For a couple of weeks now I've been getting several different BSODs on one of my 64-bit Win 7 Pro SP1 systems. I don't think I've seen more than one at a time (i.e., the sequence I keep seeing is BSOD, reboot with CHKDSK, then the system runs fine with no issues for hours or days before another BSOD occurs). Due to upload size constraints on this forum, I could only upload 3 of the 5 mini-dumps I've experienced in the last 24 hours. In that time, I've seen 4 different BSOD types: 0x03B, 0x00A, 0x01A, and two 0x04E -- but I've seen a couple of other ones whose error codes I can't recall. Raxco PerfectUpdater detects no out-of-date drivers, and I haven't added any new hardware in months. The only new drivers/services/software I've installed were for WinAntiRansom, which is brand new as of a few hours ago, so they can't be responsible for the BSODs. (I installed it because of an apparent "ransom" attempt that failed on a different machine). Both MBAM and Avira Pro report no malware. Also, I've exhaustively run MemTest86 v7 for almost two full days and no memory errors were discovered. I'm stumped, so I'm asking you geniuses around here for help. Desperately! Thanks! 2. Dear Forum Members, My Asus K70IC notebook running 64-bit Windows 7 failed to boot 4 days ago. It was a very hot day and the soldering of a BGA IC set loose. The problem was fixed by reballing. The notebook is now working perfect but previous Windows 7 installation cannot boot any more. I get BSOD and error 0x0000007B at the beginning of boot process. I tried system repair tools (no errors), chkdsk /f (no errors), fixing MBR, rebuiling BCD (cannot find installation) but nothing helped. Nothing had been changed in the config before switching on again the working notebook except one thing: HDD was removed. After realizing the notebook does not boot I removed the HDD and verified it in another Win7 notebook to make sure HDD is OK. It was OK, but I'm afraid the Win7 on another notebook automatically made changes in the BCD or drive letters. Could it be the main reason? Please help me preserve the current Win7 installation on my notebook because installed apps store some very essential information for me which cannot be restored after a clean install. Clean install would be disaster for me. Thank you in advance.
  3. When I try to start Windows normally, a BSoD tells me to run chkdsk /f which I can't do because when I try to launch startup repair, it loads and then just shows me a black screen and a slightly larger than usual cursor which I can move. Running in Safe Mode also gives me the same BSoD. I tried booting my Windows installation disc but I still get the same black screen and movable cursor. I have minor experience with fixing startup problems but sadly, I have no idea of how to fix this. I will be happy to provide any information needed. Reformatting is not an option because my really important projects are there and I can never recreate them. Salvaging my data is not really an option because I don't have external hard drives or anywhere to put them. Please help!

  5. Hi there, I put together a system recently and have had errors since installing windows 7 onto the computer My Build is; i5 3570K Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600mhz Seagate Barracuda 1TB Nvidia GTX 660 Now the Bsods' I've been having recently are: Driver IRQL not less or equal Pagefault in non paged area Kernel Security check failure All of these were read off of Who Crashed on Windows 8 and were the same errors I was getting on Windows 7 The BSODS happen at very random times, it's so odd infact that I can run CPU intensive applications like Prime 95 for hours on end just fine but then If I open up a browser and watch a video or something really basic, I'll end up with one of these errors. Even gaming doesn't give any BSODS, just happens at random times. I would really appreciate any help at all because I saved up for a fairly long time to build this computer and it's a tad annoying that I can't get it to work properly. Thanks very much, Yad
  6. Hello, i've had bsod problems for about half a year now, and as smart as I am, I have not really considered taking action until now. I'll try to provide you with as much relevant information as i can, if i've done something wrong or missed something, please tell me. When does the bsod usually happen? - When opening new tabs in google chrome - When doing nothing at all - A few times when playing games, but not very often Observations? - I ran a memtest a couple of months ago, i let it run for 5 hours, it only got one pass along with a hole bunch of errors (pretty sure it was over at least a 100 000 errors) So I'm pretty the RAM is the problem, but i want to make sure. - I witnessed the cpu constantly reaching 100% before a freeze crash, but that was not a bsod. My computer specs: - Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 520W PSU ATX 12V V2.3, 80 Plus Bronze, Modular, 2x 6+2pin PCIe, 6x SATA, 135mm Fan - Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 16GB CL9 Kit w/4x 4GB, CL9-9-9-24, 1.5V, Vengeance Blue Heatspreader, 240 pin - EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB PhysX CUDA PCI-Express 3.0 - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H, Socket-1155 ATX, Z77, DDR3, 2xG3+1xG2-PCIe-x16, SLI/CFX, mSATA, VGA, DVI, HDMI, DP, UEFI - Intel® Core i5-3570K Processor Socket-LGA1155, Quad Core, 3.4GHz, 6MB, 77W, HD4000, Boxed w/fan - Seagate Barracuda® 1TB SATA 6Gb/s (SATA 3.0), 64MB Cache, 7200RPM, 3.5" My latest dmp file ( out of 42 dmp files):/>http://www.mediafire.com/?lk34ffdldcfrfbc ( I was not allowed to upload a zip file, so i uploaded it on Mediafire instead ) Anyway, I hope you guys can help, i would really appreciate it. If i haven't provided you with the correct information, please tell me.
  7. i recently disabled the administrator account via command terminal with the net user command. i'm a dummy too because i didn't elevate my user account privledges but there seems as if there was a security loophole. i say this because as a result of doing so i continuously god bsods because encryption software needed elevated privledges. so rebooted to safe mode to find that in safe mode, the administrator account hadn't been disabled and the password was preserved. even though elevated privledges were no longer available to my user account. i was able to restore the admin account for encryption which is good but i wondered why this might have happened. another question is that i noticed that teredo was no long popping up in my network analyzer as a default device, and it still isn't under the admin account which i'm now using. but it is now showing as an active network connection. why is teredo only appearing under admin? third, why does windows have a kernel? i thought windows works on a registry key totally seperate from kernel modules deployed under linux. and finally, is there a way to save bookmarks from another user before i close the account? i don't know how to backup the folder and windows 7's gui confuses me at times even though i've been using it for some time.
  8. Hello everyone, I recently experience a problem with my Windows 7 Ultimate. While playing Dota 2, my computer encountered a BSOD. after waiting for at least 15-20 Minus the computer did not restart on its own, so I manually hit the restart switch. Upon restarting and after booting it became clear that my computer was not the same. It took 20 minutes to reach the welcome to screen and logging in takes twice as long as it usually is. I cannot access my Win7, it is way to slow, I don't think I can collect data for you guys as it would take way too long. Can anybody help me please? :)
  9. I've been getting around 13 BSOD's in the last two months, and i don't have a clue what the cause is. This is what i've tried to fix the problem: -Update Motherboard drivers -Drive error check I can't upload the minidump here since the limit is 200k. But I uploaded the minidump here: http://www.mediafire...t5x55zbrxa2e9mb I beg of you guys to find the problem. My computer is only about 2 months old..
  10. For some reason, I am all of a sudden getting Blue Screens of Death for the past 2 weeks. What I have done: 2 system restores, 1 going way before I had any trouble. Full scans with MS Security Essentials Ran Memtest86+ for 7 hours for what I believe is 3 passes Uninstalling recent programs Checked driver and chipset updates Everything in Device Manager looks fine Pulled the few remain hairs from my head! Specs on my system: - Gateway PC model GM5632E – Complete specs - http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1014739R/1014739Rsp2.shtml - Windows 7 64 bit (upgraded from Vista 32 bit over 1 yr ago) - 8 GBs Corsair 2 x 4 GB kits(upgraded approximately 2 months ago from 3 GBs) - Running old Sony TV off of graphics board via S Video to RCA for Windows Media Center - Running X10 system via USB port as well as installed program on my system What have I been doing in the 2-4 weeks: - A lot of “music identification” and organization via programs like Metatogger 4, MPTagThat, FastDuplicateFileFinder, MediaMonkey. - I noticed that the crashes started after I had tried a program called zbar to give you a task bar on the 2nd monitor but it wasn’t even a installed program. It was just an executable that I erased. As mentioned, I have also done 2 system restores since then. - Started running IE9 I have noticed: - Various apps have been crashing such as Outlook 2007 much more than ever before, today Dropbox which has never crashed, IE9, Windows Media Center - Monitor going black for a second and then a change in the color or transparency of the task bar. I don’t know how to read mini dumps or full dumps but here is a collection of both plus screen shots of BSOD and Memtest86+: Mini Dumps: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6350326/BSOD%20%20Windows%207%20100811-26515-01.zip Full Dumps: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6350326/MEMORY%2010-15-11.zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6350326/MEMORY%2010-18-11.zip Screen shots of BSOD and Memtest86+: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6350326/BSOD%20%26%20Mem86%20results.zip Your help would be greatly appreciated.
