I'm not sure if anyone here knows this question, but in the last month my IP Address has changed 3 times :o I haven't got a Virus and no one is hacking into my system.

Is this norm?

Here's my H.T Log File just in case it might help.

Not sure about NTL, but my IP address on Freeserve broadband isn't static and changes every time I reconnect.

You should also update to Service Pack 2 if you're worried about security !

I use NTL and can confirm that they do NOT use static addresses. In practice, I find mine does not change very often, but it does change occasionally.

If you are in the habit of turning off your connecting device (either set top box, or cable modem) on a regular basis, then your IP will change more frequently.

Hope that helps.

Daft question, but I guess you can't go surfing without the Proxy Server?

I am using NTL. Where I live they are always late updating the cache, whatever that may mean, and I do not get Adaware updates until about a day and a half late. Using a proxy server in Birmingham it is more up to date.

Is there anyway of getting rid or changing my Proxy Server folk's? I Up/Download things (music, free game patches etc) on Rapid Share for people, but I can't seem to be able to do this anymore because you have a limited amount of space per day to Up/Download so it's 1st come 1st serve atm
