Alan2273
Unless your computer was second hand when you brought it there is no way the shop can offer you just a three month warranty. It should be covered by a twelve month warranty, but I do not know if that would cover the labour.Glad your problem is resolved. artist
I think we're at cross purposes here - The computer was new and is 4 years old. The power pack died 9 months ago and because the new one didn't fit in the old casing, I had a new casing too.
Alan2273
Sorry I got my wires crossed, but even so the PSU should have been covered by a twelve months warranty.
AlanHo
I agree with alan2273 - you are entitled to nothing less than a 12 month warranty from the supplier (the shop) and not the manufacturer. They are obligated by law to replace the unit free of charge. If they will not agree - then contact your local Trading Standards Office. trackrat
Artist, I had a problem which I posted on this site, PCA & the pit.The only replies I got (which did solve the problem) was from the Pit, non from PCA or windows forum. But I did not get paranoid about it, as I said earlier on in this topic, if I know nothing about a subject, I will not post.Nothing annoys me more than people who know nothing about a subject and google it, post the results which might solve the posters problem, but if it makes the problem worse then the original topic starter will probably go to another forum to try for the correct answer. When I first joined PCA, about 8 years ago, I was a newbie and when I had a problem I would post it on that forum, the advice given to me one time completley wrecked my OS (98se) and cost me £120 to have it reinstalled. If you only have one computer and cannot get online after following advice from this forum, you are going to go elsewhere. artist
If you only have one computer and cannot get online after following advice from this forum, you are going to go elsewhere.I suppose we all do that.......I don't just do ANYTHING though - I have learned a lot from the forums and can see the danger of trying TOO much. I started out with PCA and found the help on there good and easy to understand. Generally I am happy with this place and the two others I frequent. It's a nightmare for the newbies - we were all there once.
