prost
I've come across articles showing that undervolting your processor cuts its energy use with only a small performance loss. Someone said its lifespan is cut too. Is this right?
-pops-
Do you have problems with the lifespan of the processors in your machines? I've been involved in computers for a large number of years and never any problems with processors failing. Passive compnents on the other hand fail fairly commonly, sometimes with a loud bang and a firework display. I don't think you should worry about it. Run the items under the conditions they are meant to run an remember that computers are merely tools to make jobs easier, not an end in themselves.
