Guest Drovers Dog Posted June 18, 2004 Report Share Posted June 18, 2004 :P The Green Grocer Supermarket!!Years ago, one of my good Customers was a Bowls Club, and in the course of Business, I used to have several drinks with the Manager, and Members, even joined as a non Playing Member!One Bloke, Jim, and I had a few drinking sessions, he owned a very succesful, Supermarket, that specialised in fresh Fruit and Vegetables, really good qualitybut at a good price, the Business was turning over $20,000.00 each week.Jim sold the Business, for a really good price, to a younger man, an Accountant,then went into his Retirement!Three weeks after the Sale, he mentioned to me, that the new young Gun had completely changed around his Buying Process, and instead of buying good quality Produce, instead had bought cheap Produce, and was trying to sell things even cheaper to boost Turnover.The Turnover was now down to $10,000.00Jim's Comment, I will never forget!!!!"When it get's back to $5,000.00 per week, I will let one of my kids buy it back from him!!!! :wub: :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
