You can burn CDs, transfer digital photos from camera to computer, make movies, create playlists, tune into Internet radio, share pictures, watch DVDs and more. XP includes built in applications such as WMP and Movie Maker that perform functions that once required third party software. If you buy the Digital Media Edition of the Microsoft Plus! add-on, you have even more options.How about you? Do you use all of the media applications included with XP, or are you still using third-party programs (or are you one of those who "doesn't do multimedia")? Have you tried Microsoft's solutions and found them lacking and gone back to more full featured third-party programs? Prince of Calcutta Posted March 12, 2003 Report Share Posted March 12, 2003 actually i've given up 3rd party software since installing windows xp :Duse xp's firewall so don't bother with installing zone alarmuse the camera and scanning wizard for both scanner and camera instead of firmware.use media player to watch vcd's don't use movie maker or win dvd since i do not have either a dvd drive or a handy camuse windows xp roxio cd writing software so no longer use the hp roxio software that came with my external cd-rw as well as using media player to burn playlists. i might have missed a few things but all in all i found that upgrading to xp was the best thing i've ever done recently :) all it needs is a built in virus scanner and i can dump norton too :lol:Ps: i don't work for microsoft!
