peter e
Seems impressive at first. But as you say, Shirl, webjunk. :D Adding the digits of a two digit number and subtracting the answer from the original number selected will always give a multiple of 9. You may notice that the symbol against the multiples of 9 are always the same each time. Pete

peter e
Here's how it works, monkey. If you choose any number between 10 and 19, add the digits together and subtract this answer from the original number, you will always end up with 9. Do the same with any number between 20 and 29 and you will end up with 18. Between 30 and 39 you get 27; 40 to 49 you get 36 and so on. All the answers are multiples of 9 (9 divides into them exactly). If you look at these multiples of 9 (9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81) on the number grid, you'll see that they all have the same symbol beside them. Click on the crystal ball and the symbols change, but look at these numbers and you'll see the symbols against each of them are the same. That's how it's done.Pete
