peter e
A friend took his Win 98 computer to PC World because of a problem with Internet access. He was persuaded that he needed to buy more memory and upgrade to Win XP. This he agreed to but when the machine was delivered he found that nothing worked properly - screen was fuzzy with strange graphics, programs wouldn't load - basically it was unusable. Also, he wasn't told that scanner and printer might not work because they would need XP drivers. He took it back and after a couple of weeks PC World said they would re-install Win 98 because they couldn't get XP to work. He's picking it up tomorrow so doesn't yet know what sort of a job they've done.Anyway, he's asked me if instead of XP would Win 2000 be better to upgrade to (he must think I know about such things). He has an Advent 3000 (?) an HP 720 C printer and a Mustek 1200 VB scanner. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks all. :D Pete

peter e
Not 100% sure, ellas. He wrote it down and it looks like Advent 3000. I'll ask when I see him.It is powerful, isn't it? 2.4 GHz, nearly £1800! Flippin' heck! I didn't realise. :o Pete
