Scarthy © ® ™
Just found out that a new version of the DivX Player has been released. It is version 2.1 and is bundled with the 5.0.3 Bundles. Available from HERE.New:The DivX Player is now a more general-purpose media player. This version adds support for the following file formats:MPEG-1 (.mpg)MPEG-2 (.vob)Windows Media Video (.asf, but not .wmv)QuickTime (.mov, but only those files that can be decoded by DirectShow; some QuickTime files still will not work)Support for certain hardware post-processing acceleration.Auto-installing skins. DivX Player skins may now be installed by simply double-clicking on the skin file. There is no longer a need to manually move the skin file to the Skins directory.Improved:Open URL... functionality. The "Open URL..." functionality of the DivX Player has been re-written to improve performance. The GUI is also re-designed to improve feedback during the download process. The "Open URL..." functionality now also supports FILE URLs. ;) ...I am still waiting for the new codec to be released first. It is in beta testing at the moment... Grab your copy from H E R E .If you just want the codec (for Windows Media Player) then download the Free version and, when installing, just install the codec only and not the player... ;)
