Windows Media Player crossfade

Could one of you clever people help me? I'm having trouble getting my crossfade to work. I'm running XP. It used to work fine on WMP9, then all of a sudden it stopped working. I've now updated to WMP10, but it doesn't work on that either.

In the Crossfading and Auto Volume Leveling section it's enabled, with a 10 second overlap, but I don't get any overlap at all during playback.

I'd really appreciate any help on this (responses in idiot speak please ;) )

i don't know if there's a better way, but try a new skin, for instance from nvidia (works with any hardware):

looks great and works really fine! the search function and the crossfade are great add on's!

Thanks for your reply, dyingpicket. I've tried your suggestion, and the crossfade is still not working. I do like the skin though. :)

I was searching out this problem myself, mine won't work either.

From what I gather it's something to do with this codec (screenshot below).

There's another codec you can use which should solve the problem but I've not checked it out yet.

Glad to know it's not just me, bvw! I'll wait to see what you can find out about the other codec.
