Skinner
My cursors in the windows\cursors folder have somehow become corrupt- the only schemes that work seem to be the black system scheme and white sys. All the others (animated etc) have ceased to function for some reason. What should I do, short of re-installing XP? Is it possible to copy this folder from someone else's machine? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Hi, and welcome to the Forum! As first step I would try to run the System File Checker; this will restore any missing or corrupted files. Start -> Run, then type the followingsfc /scannowYou will need to have the Windows XP CD-ROM ready.Whether you succeed getting your Windows cursors back, or not, try the freeware CursorXP - they have quite a nice set of 3D cursors. Skinner
HI thanks for welcome, I tried this sfc /scannow - it took a while and needed the XP sys disk, but afterwards the cursors were still corrupt ('...or missing')... I have tried the CursorXP ones, but they are too much-all I want is what I deserve. This is a niggling problem I can't seem to surmount: why won't the bog-standard cursors work?!
