Windows Service

Recommended Posts

All,

I am not sure how is this happening. I am on Windows Server 2003. Every weekend my server reboots and should start all services(Automatic Selected). Though few services of Oracle doesnt start. Any one know of any reason why its behaving like this. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Rick,

When you double-click the service(s) in question in the Services Window, are they set to auto-start?

If they're set to auto-start, and they're not starting, I'd go throught he Event Logs (esp. the Application Log) looking for any errors. You might narrow your search by looking around the time of the last reboot.

Why are the servers rebooting? Are they being shut down cleanly during the reboot? If it's part of a power test, or something, I recommend a UPS with software to let them shut down cleanly.

Hello,

I meet another problem with a W2003 server.

- I start a service with the Service Manager

- The service starts, its state turns to 'started' in the Service Manager window

- When I refresh the Service Manager window, the service is not shown as started anymore. But the process is still running.

Any idea about that ?

Thanks in advance
