Sloaah
I have an Advent desktop computer from PC World that is around 4 years old. This is its configuration;-P4 1.8 Ghz-60 GB -512 MB RAM-Windows XP Pro SP2-Some tacky NVidia graphics card (perhaps integrated)I've always had masses of trouble on this computer and have installed XP six times on it, formatting the HDD every time. This time, however, the computer starts up in the normal process, goes on the Windows "loading bar" page and then swaps to a blue screen. The words "Please wait" are in the corner of the screen and full stops appear after it, but do not stop - they continue going on and on and until the page is full - but it still continues. Nothing happens. I've tried reinstalling XP, but the CD is recognised, tried installing Suse Linux, but the same happens, try using McAfee backup disk, but disk is apparently corrupt and have tried using the Advent backup CD, but that is not recognised either. Please help me - bigtime! :D
korgg
Try to load Bios Defaults from your bios ... This might help somehow. And does the bios recognise the HDD ? And if it does, did it sees it good ? Does the hdd makes strange noises ? I'm only asking because I saw a a sistem that behave as you say.. It was a faulty hdd ...
