Guest krazyderek Posted October 4, 2005 Report Share Posted October 4, 2005 I'm trying to program my keyboard to have a calclator key, since this keyboard doesn't have the "internet" buttons... or volume / mute buttons.I have already attempted to make a shortcut file to the calculator.exe file and create a windows shortcut key which i then program to a macro on the HOME button, but this results in a 15-18 second delay in opening the calculator. Even just typing in the CTR+ATL+HOME windows shortcut keystroke's there is still a delay. It's faster for me to click on "start" and go up to calculator, as it opens instantly, just as fast as when i pressed the calculator button on my old microsoft natural pro keyboard.Anybody know anyother way to do this? Or why my short cut key combination is sooooo slow? i've tried assigning it to different keys with the same result. How do manufacturers build this into a keyboard? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted October 5, 2005 Report Share Posted October 5, 2005 Hello, and welcome to the forum!Sorry, I do not have the answer to your question, but somebody else here might have more information.But I can tell you what I do with programs/apps that I use often.I have the Office Shortcut Bar installed, which I have prtitioned into several sections (Office, Development, Accessories). All apps that I use regularly are in there, and it costs me just one or two clicks to launch the apps.Programs that I use very ofthen (Outlook, IE, Firefix, Thunderbird) I have placed into the Quick Launch Bar.
