Guest Damo
:o :o 750,000 :o Amazing! Well done Craig! I think that figure is a testament to your forum and all the hard work you put in to it!
Prince of Calcutta
was wondering what you were on about damo.. then i looked up! congratulations craig!
Guest Nellie2
You do realise that 250,000 of those visits is probably just me!! I cannot for the life of me keep away.I will echo your comments Prince and Damo on what a good job Craig has done with the forum......but I will also say that a forum isn't a forum without the input from it's members.WF just wouldn't be the nice, friendly, informative place it is without you lot.......so well done all of you too. I feel richer for knowing you all..........right I am going to go and have a good ole bawl now!!!! :)

Snec
What's this going on now? Is there something wrong with my maths?750,000 devided by 150 (roughly number of days since site restarted)equals 5,000 visits per day. There's 286 members and the most members here at one time was forty.Looking at the number of anonymous browsers where the number of members on site is listed I have never seen that number quoted in "thousands".Perhaps WF does not relate to this forum but means something else entirely, or as I say my maths is up the spout. Guest Nellie2
Nuttin wrong with your maths Snec............obvioulsy there are a lot of visitors to the site every day! ;)
Snec
lol, 5,000 a day. Pleased it's not me maths Nellie. This should be in the madhouse surely. Even PCA would not claim 5,000 per day ...... erm, would they :D :P
Guest Nellie2
Well...... I must be in and out of here at least 10 times a day, so if you multiply that by 286 that is nearly 3000 visits a day and don't forget all the guests that we have popping in and out all the time.......so the numbers do add up ;)
Guest northamuk
PCA keep their stats SECRET but if they were to quote the "hits" it would probably be in the "tens of thousands" per day. I probably log in dozens of times per day (as do many others + guests) The numbers mount up and a "hit" counter is not so sophisticated as to disregard multiple visits. Craig can see the hit counter, why should anyone doubt his word ?
Guest Nellie2
Zactly what I was trying to say :D
Craig
For some reason with this host i cannot access the total number of 'unique' visitors / users. So the figure quoted does include people like me hitting F5 or refesh 1000 times a day!
Snec
 Let's be clear here ... I was not doubting anyones word. :o And I am not trying to rain on anyones parade. But it seemed to me that the figure was wrong. A mistake perhaps? Or indeed for a reason as Craig's has now explained. But whatever the figure cannot be correct. Sorry!5000 devided by 24 hours equals an average of 208 per hour. Now if you add together the members logged on plus the anonymous browsers the figure is nev ever anything like 208. And if that was the average, then sometimes it would need to be double, 416 in total. You look at any time you wish and see for yourselves. I'll hav a look now myself. Anyway, that's enough basic maths for one day.Regards and kind wishes,Snec
Snec
16 in total now. Long way short of what the figure would be if the average was correct.Willing to accept any other explanations anyone cares to put up.Thanks.Snec
Guest northamuk
A hit counter does what it says on the box, it counts hits. Maths don't enter into the equation.
Craig
208 an hour seems reasonable!i can hit the board that many times in an hour without trying!
Snec
Why do you want to argue about this? Craig has explained the possible reason and you can see that he does not think the figure is correct. And anyway I can't believe you really mean that. Believe what you want sir, but figures have got everything to do with maths.I'll leave it with you now before it becomes totally ridiculous. Craig
I dont suppose you want to know the real figure then?!750,000 just sounded nice, it is actually 767,091! :D
Guest northamuk
Ah, but if you divide that by 286, is it correct ???[and that was a facetious comment !!!]
Craig
Ah, but if you divide that by 286, is it correct ??? :rolleyes:It is dead on give or take a couple of million!!!! :D :D :D[see edit, above     ]

Ash
"Hits" on a forum are always huge, as I need to load about 5 pages just to reply - another 1 to go back this index, another for the main....etc etc. Still, congrats Craig, the site is doing well.
Snec
A very reasonable observation there Ash. Thanks for your input.I agree that the site is doing well and Craig is doing a very good job except, it seems to me, for appointing an argumentative moderator who lacks a grasp of basic maths and is by his own admission facetious. Not a ploy designed to encourage postings from non-regulars!
