offpir Posted January 13, 2006 Report Share Posted January 13, 2006 Hi there i got a problem with my network.I've built up a network of 4pc's last year and it worked perfectly (with a hub), they even had firewalls and it didn't give a problem at all.They all have norton internet security 2005 and winxp pro or homeBut recently a pc was replaced because it was too old, and that's where the troubles started.The new pc can't connect to one pc in the network and vise versa, the other 2pc's can connect to all others.It's like 2 are rejecting each other.I tried to disable the firewalls with no luck, installed new protocols like ipx and it didn't work either.Pinging works so it can't be a harware problem. Are they all in the same workgroup?Please don't add protocols. That can only add to the confusion. We'll have to get TCP/IP working.Are they all up to date on Windows Updates? Does the new PC have XP SP2's Firewall on, or does it also have Norton Internet Security?Is the new PC XP Pro? Is it now, or has it ever been in a Domain? offpir Posted January 13, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 13, 2006 1 pc doesn't have a firewall and is never updated cuz my sister uses it for word only (this pc is visible in the network fo all pc's)3 other pc's are up to date and have firewalls, 1 pc is visible for all othersthe other 2 give problems (only with each other) even if firewalls (both windows and norton) are turned offi put a ip range in norton i trust and all 4 ip's are in themI find it weird that only these two have just problems with each othereven tried the network wizarf a few times but that doesn't change anythingand I never used a domain or anything and all 4 are in the same workgroupall other network adapters were disabled from the beginning :P cuz there aren't used and popups always showed up that there wasn't a wireless connection Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
