Invisible§niper Posted February 17, 2006 Report Share Posted February 17, 2006 Hello again, 3rd post :),Anyway I have recently tried an NS_Lookup and I get an error that complains about 192.168.1.254 (My Default Gateway). It says that it can not find the server name for 192.168.1.254 this is also specified in my IP configuration that 192.168.1.254 is my primary DNS server, I also have a secondary DNS server specified... which does work.I do know that what it is saying is that it can not find the name for my router (192.168.1.254); but is my router supose to have a name, is this an error, or is it normal? homecomputeraid Posted February 17, 2006 Report Share Posted February 17, 2006 It's not a big deal for a router not to have a name but you can specify one on most, if not all routers if you want. Communication with routers rarely occurs by name. It's almost always done by IP.
