jcramin Posted March 27, 2006 Report Share Posted March 27, 2006 We have 4 servers, 3 of them are Windows 2000 and one is Windows NT which is the PDC also. We dont have a BDC yet. We are not using Active Directory.I am trying to VPN into the NT Server. I have a router and VPN passthru is on. I can get in.I get to the point where the client which is XP says VERIFYING USERNAME AND PASSWORD but it times out.On the NT Server in the Event log I see that the connection is getting a Authentication timeout error.Any have any ideas why this is happening, or am I going to have to switch to Active Directory and try and setu VPN ?Thanks,J Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I will mention that 2000 and newer Server OS's are easier to configure and more secure for tunneling. Please take care if you plan to migrate to Active Directory and read up on how to go about it.
