Enabling NTLMv2 for Win2k

Ok, I'm hoping this won't be too over the top. I have recently completed a Microsoft Exchange Server swap in Outlook 2003 on approx 20 computers, all of them running Win2k Pro, on the same network, going to the same server. All of them worked except 1.

The first step in the swap was to enable NTLMv2 for Win2k. The instructions I had for this were:

1) Click on start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy.

2) In the left hand window, drill down to Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options.

3) Doubleclick the "LAN Manager Authentication Level" setting.

4) Choose "Send LM and NTLM - use NTLMv2 If Negotiated" option.

This worked perfectly fine for, like I said, all but 1 computer. On the computer in question, I make it as far as step 2, but there are no settings (policies) listed for me to double-click in step 3. None at all. The computer works perfectly fine, except that I can't change the LAN Manager setting and enable the user's new email account. This is my branch admin, it's quarter end, she's the most important person in the office right now, and she has to use someone else's computer to check email once an hour, which is slowing us down.

Please help if you can, any info is appreciated.

I am not an expert on this, but I am just probing: could it be that you need to be logged on as an Administrator user to change these settings?
