virtual network connection in Windows

Hi all,

I want to configure an additional virtual network adapter in Windows XP Pro. I dont know if you all are familiar with Unix, it is possible in Unix. Like eth0:0

What I want to be able to do is, create an additional virtual network adapter and make a connection called LAN2 and assign another IP to it. I use my Laptop at many places and find it cumbersome to reconfigure the IP address of my Laptop everytime I connect to another network.

If it possible to assign an additional virtual network adapter, I can assign an IP to it without disturbing the IP address of the existing real network adapter.

I hope I am clear.

Pls help.
