originalhandy
I was in a hotel the other day and when i opened up my wireless, it took me to an IP instead of my default homepage. It made me read the T&C's and accept a cookie that expires after twelve hours (after expiration i had to do it again.) That got me thinkingMy office (Tourism Center) has an open WiFi for tourists and locals and i would like to do something similar. Are there any tutorials on doing this ? cozofdeath
If there isn't an option in your firmware then you will have to stick a (gateway) computer between the router and the internet. Then you would put software on that gateway computer to display your splash screen/webpage to them. You could also do any type of network monitoring/filtering/firewalling on that computer. Go here for a graphical explaination, they also have a live cd to produce the splash screen but I'm sure theres better ones somewhere. Hope that helps
originalhandy
Cheers, that gives me something to work on. I didnt see anything on the firmware, but having a gateway PC wouldnt be a problem. Paying $129 for the software would though, but with Linux im sure there is free version somewhere.
