jag
On my laptop, running XP, I use to have an option in my power options which had several options in the dropdown for actions to take when I close the lid. I now have only " Do nothing". I had to reload my OS. but I don't remember having to do anything special the last time I reloaded the OS. Specifically, I want the system to hibernate. How do I get that function?
dagwoood
Hi jag. In your Power Options Properties, click on the hibernate tab at the top and make sure there's a tick in the box. Then click on the power schemes tab, and in the power schemes drop down menu select the Laptop/Portable option. Here's a screenie to show what I mean. You should then have hibernate listed as one the options underneath.HTH, dagwoood.
jag
Thanks dagwood. I don't have a hibernate tab. The tabs I have are Power scheme,Alarms, Power meter, and Advanced. Advanced has the drop downs in it. I don't have a hibernate or UPS tab.
