Fleetchief Posted June 22, 2006 Report Share Posted June 22, 2006 My 'Back up' software, Drive Image 7 has become corrupt, how I don't know but, having seen a dialogue on this site (dated Oct 14th 2005) between 'deuces wild' & 'andsome' I thought that the answer was here. The problem and symptoms which I am experiencing are exactly the same as described i.e. Cannot uninstall using Windows Add/Remove facility in Control Panel, process goes so far and the message RTC File Error appears aand the Remove process stops. Have tried using the original Installation CD again with same results.Followed routine recommended by 'ansome' i.e. used Start-Search for all files (including hidden) containing Drive Image 7 and deleted them all, then Run 'Regedit' HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software in both options and deleting all notations regarding Drive Image 7. No results. Instal with original disc (legal) goes so far and then "RTC File Error" and Fatal Fault during Installation.
