sapins Posted June 28, 2006 Report Share Posted June 28, 2006 Hi all,A few months ago I registered with www.VoipCheap.co.uk and bought £10 of credit to activate the account, unlimited calls to many countries are totally free but the reception at the called number end was not good, an echo and a slight time lag spoilt the call and you had to have a microphone and headset.Today I received an e-mail from them about a new development, their site is www.webcalldirect.com "WebCallDirect connects two standard telephones, whether they are landline or mobile, regardless if the owner is connected to the Internet or not".So, no buying a "Skype" type phone, your ordinary one will do.I have tried it out today and the recipients of the calls have said it is as good as any call they have received. I was sure it said you could have a 3 minute call to try it but my first call went on for over 20 minutes and I then had a second call for 3 minutes. All I have done up to now is register with a user name and a password, no personal or credit card details as yet. You register and later if you wish, buy €10 (£7) of credit. You actually get 300 minutes of free calls every week, which by my reckoning works out at .26 of a euro cent a minute over the 90 days. if you exceed this there is a 3 euro cents connection charge and calls cost 1 euro cent a minute.I have no connection with the organisation concerned, except I am a subscriber, I thought some of you may be interested.
