Remembering text

Hi,

I just got this brand new computer loaded with Windows XP Pro. My old one used to remember data such as items I would look at on e-bay, my name when I went on the net etc. I don't remember doing anything specific on my old computer and it remembered.

How do I enable this computer to do that as well.

Hi welcome to the forum.

I assume you are using IE as your browser ?

Go into tools,Internet options, General tab, bottom window is History, set to how many days you want to keep.

History button is a green arrow on a circle in the top tool bar in IE.

Thanks. I was thinking more of the feature that remembers words. For instance if I am on e-bay and I type in "arrow", everytime I search on e-bay and start to type "a" the word "arrow" will appear and I can click on it to take me directly to all the listings with the word "arrow". I notice Windows has remembered my password or my user name in a couple of instances when I've been surfing.
