File associations with image editors

Recommended Posts

Hi, this is my first post.

I have a Kodak camera and its software is installed on my XP laptop. However, my non digital camera pics are now kodak files and I'd like them to be PSP files or even Irfanview files. The Kodak association means that when I browse, I can't even see the pics but rather the Kodak icon.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It may happen again, if it does just go ahead and remove the Kodak software, you don't need it as your camera will still be seen by XP and you can choose any software for storing viewing. Kodak cameras are very good but the software is invasive and tries to take over all your picture files.

When I had my Kodak, I removed the software and let XP's own picture viewer handle the photos simply because its very quick, I still do it this way with my Fuji s9500 and only move the ones I want to edit into PSP or CS2 editing software.
