When I connect an usb storage device (usb-stick, ipod) to my computer it will not show up in My Computer or in iTunes++. But it does say that it has found a new device. Ive tried almost everything now and it is turning me crazy. I've also reinstalled windows (XP Pro), but that didn't change it. Do I have to format everything and install again? I think the problem came after installing a not very good driver for some old usb altec-lansing speakers, but I'm not sure. I would be very greatful for every kind of help! Ooge Posted August 17, 2006 Report Share Posted August 17, 2006 Hi efish,have you tried to unplug all other USB devices from your computer and then connect the USB stick? It might be the case here that some parallel device (or that device's driver) is interrupting seriously your USB data flow.And are you sure it isn't the USB stick itself that is damaged? - have you tried it with some other PC/Mac?I can't see no point to reinstall XP over and over again, obviously it won't help here.Good Luck!
