BigWaza Posted August 18, 2006 Report Share Posted August 18, 2006 I have recently been asked to fix a computer for a friend. Windows constantly crashes shortly after being booted up. It always goes to a blue screen of death saying that one of the kernel files has been corrupted - changes which file ever time. I wiped the hard drive and re-installed windows but it made no difference to this problem. I even installed a new hard drive and installed windows on to that. Everything i think of makes no difference to this situation. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem. cozofdeath Posted August 18, 2006 Report Share Posted August 18, 2006 Yeah, check the RAM. Try putting a stick of RAM in you know thats good and take out the old. That should solve it. If not disconnect device you won't need to boot up. If it boots up fine its the power supply. If not there are many other options but I would try those two first.
