Windows Crashes Constantly even after re-install

I have recently been asked to fix a computer for a friend. Windows constantly crashes shortly after being booted up. It always goes to a blue screen of death saying that one of the kernel files has been corrupted - changes which file ever time. I wiped the hard drive and re-installed windows but it made no difference to this problem. I even installed a new hard drive and installed windows on to that. Everything i think of makes no difference to this situation. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem. Would really appreciate the help
