Scheduled Tasks - Windows Server 2003

Recommended Posts

I am trying to setup a process in Scheduled tasks on a windows server 2k3 environment...

It is a very simple .bat file that opens Access, which, in turn runs a macro and sends and email.

If I manually click on the .bat file, it runs perfectly (Access opens, runs the macro, then closes and everything closes in task manager), but if it is run via the Scheduled Tasks, it opens an MSACCESS.EXE process in task manager, but I never see Access open on my screen, never get and email, the Scheduled Task never ends, and MSACCESS.EXE remains open.

I am remoted in to this server via remote desktop.

Yesterday, I was locally at the server and ran the same thing in Scheduled Tasks and it ran fine.

Is there a known problem with setting up a Scheduled Task via Remote Desktop, which could cause my problem?

Thanks in advance...

you may check your command line modifiers, and see if one will make sure access becomes visible, maybe default in one condition, but not appropo for another, but thats a guess, it seems the process is getting stuck in that case you describe, also ck compatibilities of workstation, and server environ
