Scandisk in Widows XP?

Recommended Posts

It's called CHKDSK on the NT-based Windows system. The easiest way to run it is

  • right-click on the disk or partition you want to check -> Properties
  • tab Tools
  • Error Checking: Check Now

Note that CHKDSK will run during the next reboot if it is the Windows disk (usually C:).

[edit] or you need to run CHKDSK on the MP3 player...? It's probably the same procedure - can you see it in Windows Explorer?
