I have a BT Voyager 2000 router (which identifies itself in the choose a wireless network window as BTVOYAGER-19). Both my PC and laptop locate and connect to the internet via the router without any problems.My son has just bought a new Acer laptop with WiFi. It picks up 2 other networks in the street but not mine. I have loaded the BT Voyager software/drivers, but it does not show up in his choose a wireless network window at all.I can't understand why 2 other computers pick up the router at "excellent" strength. (Proving that the router works) and his doen't. And why his WiFi picks up other routers (proving that his hardware works) but not the router in the house. Any ideas please? However, I don't believe that I set any security when I installed the router 2 years ago. Also, my PC was professionally wiped clean and reformatted recently. All I did was load the router software, complete the IP set-up and it worked fine. I will however endevour to find the handbook, so that I can reset the router safely, without having to worry that my own computers are also locked out. I aimed my thoughts in that direction and I finally figured it out. I went to the router configuration and under "wireless" decided to switch channels. (it was set on Channel 13 at the top end of those available.) So I went to the middle of the list and selected channel 6. Hey presto, the laptop detected my router.Isn't it always something simple?
