martie
hi,I want to change the icon of a file type. I can change it on my computer but once I move the file to another computer the file icon changes back. How do I make the icon permanent so that if I do move the file to another computer its icon doesn't change?~ martie
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum! Most data filetypes show the icon of the associated application, e.g. JPG may show the IE icon, or DOC will show the Word icon. If you change the assosiation, the icon will change. But if you move it to another computer, it will show the association on that computer. I don't know of any way to change it permanently. cozofdeath
You will have to use a program like this...http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhan...n-Changer.shtml...because of how programs store the icon. There are more like this, just search google for icon changer or something like that.
