DNS error- Time out

Hi,

I am running into a crazy problem. when I try access this perticular website I could not access using my desktop. When I ping it time outs but when I connect my laptop and do the same it works fine. Could someone give me some hints where to look about. I believe something is blocking my access I have only windows firewall and Norton anti virus.

Pls help me.

So the ping gets through on the laptop? If thats true disable all firewalls or anything else that intercepts internet traffic that includes checking your browsers proxy settings if you can and try checking it again. I don't think its a dns problem because it would most likely work after a restart if it had to do with the cache. It also is good to delete all temporary internet files like cookies and Internet Explorer cache before doing this.

yes ping does get through on the laptop. I have tried disabling all the firewalls, deleting temp files. I have tried many restarts also...nothing helped and it is very wiered too
