clarence
Hi,I encounter a problem I couldn't understand. Now and then my XP Home would hang and even saved changes in a Word 2003 file would be gone! I thought changes once saved, should be available; how could they be gone? There isn't any auto-recovered file too. Is there any chance of getting the changes back?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Saved changes should definitely be available! In fact, if Word was still running when Windows became unstable, even unsaved changes may be recoverable. When Word opens a document, it will create a backup document named "~$..." in the same folder as the original document. All changes are regularly saved into that temp document. When you reopen the original document after a crash, any changes since the last save should be recoverable.See also Word 2003 Help "document recovery".
