A family meddler has installed a boot editor programme, created a c**p alternative boot screen and then deleted the boot editor. Now when I boot up I get an option to boot with original XP boot scren or the alternative. How do I remove this?? (in plain english please!!!)

Hi 1832bchs, welcome to the forum. I don't know the answer to your query, but others will be along to give you an answer. But as a suggestion, post the name of the boot editor. Can you re-install the editor and repair the change to your system.

Thank you all for the sugestions. When all the above failed I did a Google search and found out how to edit boot.ini ..........the words "angels" and "fear to tread" spring to mind!!!!! However, it has worked.

Once again, thank you all for taking the time to reply.

:D
