ecbritz
My OS is Windows XP (Home). When I try to exit or close Internet Explorer, the Explorer program stalls/crashes (not Windows as such). I have to use Ctrl-Alt-Del and the Task Manager to close Explorer. Something happened in the past week to damage the functioning of Internet Explorer. In the past, I corrected a problem like this by using Windows Restore. This time I re-installed Internet Explorer 7 to see if this would help. Unfortunately, the re-installation of Explorer only served to close the Windows Restore option to me. I cannot restore Windows to a date earlier than the re-installion of Explorer 7. So I am stuck. Any suggestions?
Raddy
Have you tried an alternative browser, such as Mozilla Firefox to see if it still crashes?
cozofdeath
Also try going to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools and click Internet Explorer (No add-ons) to see if it still happens.
TJolly
Hello ecbritzGo into add/remove programs and uninstall IE7. IE6 should appear. Let us know if IE is still unstable.
