I dont like SP1 for Windows 2003 if it is going like that i can't carry on please help guys.

Windows folder getting heavier and heavier (already 2.7 GB ). :( :0

Before SP it used to switch off with no reasons. :(

who had any experience, can Windows 2003 work properly without SP? :(

In advance thanks a lot.

Welcome to the Windows Forum.

The size of your Windows folder very much depends on how many system services and servers you have installed. Windows 2003 Server most likely has SQL server, Web server, Terminal server, FTP server, and what not, installed. 2.7GB sounds pretty normal to me. (My Windows folder on my XP system is 8.6GB).

Regarding Windows Service Pack: I haven't checked in detail what is in SP1, but it's most likely many security updates. I would not recommend omitting any Windows service packs; they should always be applied. (With caution, of course, after taking a full system backup.)

You do not need to keep all the Windows updates uninstallers in the Windows folder; removing them can safe you a lot of disk space. Use CCleaner to remove these uninstallers (and lots of other useless files) from your system.
