Lckystar Posted June 17, 2007 Report Share Posted June 17, 2007 I have tried to install two new items of hardware (an HP Scanner and a Logitech USB keyboard) on my son's XP computer. During both installations, the software goes through the installation procedure until the point of "registering" and then does a "rollback" and does not complete installation. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted June 17, 2007 Report Share Posted June 17, 2007 Welcome to the Windows Forum.Try to shut down or disable antivirus and antispyware softwares; these can sometimes interfere with other installations.Also check the Event Viewer (eventvwr.exe; Application Log) for the time of the installation attempts - there may be information in there.There may also be installation logs, possibly in the temp folder; but these could be difficult to locate.Finally check the manufacturers' support web sites; there may be Knowledge Base articles on the error symptoms.But do not hesitate to post back if all fails, or anything above is unclear.
