Chrisxlee
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum for this-I am currently using a Toshiba satellite m115-S3094 laptop with windows media center loaded. It works properly but, I use it as the main DAW for music production, and I recently discovered very few midi controller drivers work with windows media center-I was wondering if there would be a problem if i tried to install windows xp pro or home on it? Is the laptop hardware only compatible with windows MCE? Or can I replace it with pro or home without any problems? I'd hate to buy a new OS and have it not be compatible with the computer. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum.I am a little astonished that some midi controller drivers would not work on Media Center; is this something that the manufacturers explicitly declare, or did you find out by yourself? My impression is that Media Center is just XP with a few add-ons, or am I mistaken?
Chrisxlee
Its on the manufacturers sites in very small letters, I had to look for it. It works with the other versions, just not media center. I'm just hoping the laptop isn't only suitable for the media center edition...grr.
