strick9
I have two computers set up about the same way. They run Windows XP and have both Internet Explorer and Firefox installed. On one of the computers I am unable to log in on a web site where I'm registered, but I can log in on the other computer. I don't get an error message when the log in fails. It just displays the log-in screen again, as if nothing had happened. The behavior is the same with either browser.I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone might have. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Can you also clear the browser cache?Do you manually type the userid & password?Did you try with another browser (which one(s) do you use)?
strick9
"Can you also clear the browser cache?"I can clear the browser cache in Firefox 2.0.0.7 on the system that works properly, but not on the one that won't log in. I don't use Internet Explorer often so I don't know how to clear it."Do you manually type the userid & password?"Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It doesn't seem to matter."Did you try with another browser (which one(s) do you use)?"I use both Internet Explorer and Firefox. I use Firefox most often. On the machine that works properly, I can log on to the web site with both IE and Firefox. On the one that doesn't work,, I can't log in with either browser. Also, on the one that doesn't work, some of the graphics are missing from IE.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
That seems to be a rather tricky problem...Next question: on the machine where you are unable to login, has that always been the case, or were you able to login at an earlier time? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Rapidly running out of ideas. Is there anything in the hosts file that would prevent certain sites or IP addresses from being accessed?
