Remote Desktop Connection

I just know somethings about "Remote Desktop Connection". I wanted to know "How to connect through Internet using Remote Desktop Connection"

I understand on the Local Area Network, All I need is Username and Password and a check in (office's) my computer properties, remote, allow users to connect remotely to this computer". I have already used it within my Local Area Network. Now I wanted to use it on my office Computer. I don't know what should I put in the "Remote Desktop Connection"s Computer and Domain field. Any help will be appritiated. Thanks in advance.

I am on a diffrent LAN and my office is far away from my home on cities next LAN, both computer's have Internet Access.

If you login to the remote computer with a network user id, then you need to specify the domain name of the network the userid belongs to.

If you want to login to the remote computer as a local user, then you specify the local (target) computer name instead of the domain.

Hope this is clear; otherwise ask again.

Here I clear one thing again.

My office computer connected with the Cable Internet Service Provider's WORKGROUP "NEMESIS".

My home computer connected with the Cable Internet Service Provider's WORKGROUP "BABANET".

NEMESIS and BABANET are difrent Internet Service Provider, they don't have LAN connected to each other, there is only Internet.

Now how can I use Remote Desktop Sharing on my home computer for office computer. I wanted to access my office computer as like I am there. I have the permission for doing it. You don't bother about it.

Either set up a VPN (a free and easy one to set up is Hamachi) or forward port 3389 to your office computers IP address in the routers configuration (portforward.com should be able to give you a guide if you dont have someone who does your IT stuff in your office.)

If you have a static IP address at your office then on that computer go to ipchicken.com to get your offices IP address and then put that in the remote desktop client at home to connect.

If you have a dynamic IP address then either set up a dynamic domain name from somewhere like dyndns.org or use Hamachi.
