nickster
I have used Azureus to get a legal movie file. I have 99.8% of it. The remaining part I don't have is contiguous.I have had the file in download status in the Azureus program for a day with no more coming in.Is there a way to have Azureus finish this file as complete with out selecting it on the files tab and selecting do not download?I'm using Winrar to unpack it. When it gets to unpacking the part missing, it gives a CRC error (I think that's equivalent to checksum data not matching. Is there a way to tell Winrar to skip this piece or to ignore the error and treat it as a full correct file. I know I'll still have black video for the missing part, but that's o.k. It' only one five-hundredth of the whole video. Is there another program that has a way to unpack it as is so I can watch it?Thank you. Mike567
What movie are you downloading that is legal?
cozofdeath
What movie are you downloading that is legal?LoL, Thats what I immediately thought.Well you could stop the file, close Azureus so the file won't be in use. Uncompress it until the crc failure or pause it right before and use something like VLC to play it. Windows Media Player will won't play it because it needs the complete file before it can play.Another thing is, there are crc fixers out there that scan the file then patch the file headers original crc. That way the program would look genuine to a movie player. I have never tried it with a compressed movie but it should work.
Mike567
I doubt it would work anyway, when other peers are stuck at 99.8% it means the media company has uploaded it and dumped a load of fake seeds on it.Wouldn't be surprised if they know who you are now :lol:Media companys are getting cleaver, they have even more advanced ways of stopping you downloading. wickedadmin
Don't worry, someone will find a way to beat the Media companies. B)
Scarthy © ® ™
Do people still use Azereus? Don't you find it really greedy with your comps resources?1. Firstly, is the film you are getting still been seeded? If you got it from a public site, they have a tendency to 'hold back' and make you seed more, especially on the last few %!!!2. Secondly, you can (or should be able to) stop all the completed parts and just leave the remaining part to download, that you need.3. Thirdly, try looking for the file on another site and adding the trackers from these to your client (must be same name + filesize and saved to the same location) - (may get the missing parts this way)4. Fourthly, look what is missing - Sometimes they are only txt files or nfo's etc that are not complete! As long as you have all the rar's/sfv's complete.;)
