Curious Text File in Shared Docs

I have a hidden text file called: HBEPGUID.TXT in my Shared Documents

I delete it but it reappears every so often. The contents of the text file is:

336f7db3-13d4-41f2-a7e6-f46528f545e0|001641000CD4

Any ideas to what this is?

I don't know what that file is, but first thing I would make sure that no malware is involved. Did you do an anti-virus and anti-spyware scan of your system?

Already scanned and updated definitions and nothing. System clean

You could open regedit.exe and do a search for that GUID (336f7db3-13d4-41f2-a7e6-f46528f545e0). Or a binary text file search. Both should be done in an administrative account because the file is being put in the shared folder. Whatever registry key or file the GUID is in will tell you more about the file. You can also check the files properties to see access & modification times.

Also you could delete the file, run some commonly used programs and after running each one check to see if the file is created.
