masternige
Hi folksMy problem:I have my own personal website just sharing family pictures and all.I have just moved it on to a computer running server 2003.I had created 5 shared folders which were working fantastically.I also had and ftp server up and running on it which was great. The problem is now when I try to access my shares from my xp pro box I get the error message (You might not have permission to access this network resource contact the administrator of the server to find out if you have access permissions.)So as I don't know how I created this problem I don't know how to fix it.I have lowered my firewalls so they are not a problem.I deleted the share that was showing in my xp box and went through the steps of re creating it using the wizard. The wizard did find my shares on my 2003 box and asked me if I wanted it opened I said yes but thats when I got the above error message.I know this is a long winded post I just thought I would say what I have tried.Regards Nige. homecomputeraid
Make sure the 2003 Server is in a workgroup of the same name as the XP machine. Make sure the login you use in the XP computer is permitted access to the folder on the server. Right click on the folder, then click Properties. Click on "Sharing" then "Permissions".
