Ok I have a very simple question and a more complex explanation;

My question is as description says "how do you turn off the F-key? commands" like say F1 leads to help in every program

The reason why I'm asking is that I'm currently scripting abit in IRC and basicly I want to use the F1 buttom to post things for me in my IRC client thing is that every time I press F1 the windows "help" screen pops up and I can't turn it off...

(maybe I should add that this is on a computor using WinXP)

/thanks for your help

:)

you have to disable it :)

So first , we will need a .exe to point to ==> when you hit F1 that Gona execute the Application we need..u see For exemple : IRC.exe :)) which is located to : C:\Windows\ :)) for exemple.

2- Run the Registry Editor: go to Start, Run, and type: regedit

3- Navigate the tree on the left to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\

CurrentVersion\App Paths\HELPCTR.EXE

4- On the right side, double-click the word "(Default)" in the list

5- Change the value in the text box to: C:\Windows\IRC.exe

6- Click OK and close the registry editor

And here You are :)

Goodluck.
