rlondre Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 I am looking for assistance setting up or a better setup guide for setting up my remote desktop on a Win XP pro computer. I have a home machine that I use as a sort of home pc and file sharing pc and of course would like to access my files away from home. This PC is connect to the internet through a router that has a fixed IP address. I have followed the directions very closely in the following 2 guides on microsoft.com and have not had success connecting remotely. My suspicion is that if Remote Desktop cannot login for whatever reason, then alternate programs may be prevented from login as well.
