ddgold
Hey,I currently have three computer on my network:- a dell xps 400 with Xp media center- a dell inspiran 530 with Xp home- and a p tx1320I resently upgraded to the d-link DIR-655 router with a female USB port. And, since my computer are not always on, yet i would like a hard drive (for backup and files that all my computer need) attacked to my network. Would it work to attach an external hard drive to the usb port
homecomputeraid
Unless you buy a USB External Drive specifically designed to attach to a network, that would not work. [edit]You would probably be buying an Ethernet External Network Drive if it's designed to attach to a network, not a USB drive. You could attach the USB Drive to a computer, then share it to other computers on your network.
