ASPI error

Recommended Posts

Hi, i've managed to sort out my system over the past few days, i've concluded my slow startup was caused by the SATA drive data cable, now this is replaced things are sort of ok.

But, one of my CD drives (DVD R Drives to be exact) does'nt seem to be working properly, its the master drive on my secondary IDE channel. It works but keeps coming up with errors, i played a Brand new DVD on it, and it jumped scenes, then i tried ripping music from a CD using audiograbber and it kept coming up with ASPI error. Ive tried the same in my second 'slave' drive and all works fine. ive also tried installing programs with it and it keeps bringing up errors. Ive replaced the IDE cable and its all seated in properly but this still happens.

Could i be missing a driver or two or is this a symptom of a failing drive? The drive's only about a year old?
